This is for 2x 2UP Racks - one for each side of the vehicle. Save ~$250 by buying as a package! It will also come with matched lock inserts for both sides.
Designed and manufactured in Jindabyne NSW, the game changing 2UP has a pretty nifty party trick! It is designed to sit between your standard roof cross bars and your typical sports accessory (bikerack, kayak holder etc), and is then able to slide and tilt from the top of your vehicle providing quick and easy access, even on top of tall SUVs and trucks. No more step ladders and precariously balancing sports equipment!!!
Each 2UP Sport Rack is rated for 50kg and typically takes up half the width of Cross Bar. It can support 2 bikes, and if coupled with a 2nd 2UP on the other side, up to 4 bikes can be carried upon the roof (assuming 100kg+ roof rating)
Live by the coast? All structural components are made of 6065-T5 aluminium with all external pieces anodized in matte black with the exception of the T-Track which is anodized clear. All fasteners are A2-70 Stainless with Nyloc Nuts so you can be sure it won't rattle apart or corrode away on you, no matter where you live.
Each 2UP Rack comes with 6x M6 T-Slot Nuts, 6x M6x25mm, and 6x M6x35mm Socket Head Cap Screw fasteners. The 2UP T-Slot does not presently work with the standard 20mm T-Slot bolts from the likes of Thule and Rhino Rack. Roof Cross Bar widths and the distances between the Cross Bars differs on almost every car. On many cars, the distance between the Cross Bars can be adjusted, but on just as many, these distances are fixed, and requires careful measurement to ensure correct fit.
Let's talk Cross Bar widths first:
This is only really important if you want to run 2x 2UP Racks, and if you want the Racks to butt up nicely together in the middle. The list identifies which sizes take up half the width of your typical manufacturer's Cross Bars. If not listed, the measurement of 2UP Rack is half the Cross Bar. That is, if your rack is 1250mm, you need a 625mm to fill exactly half. It's also possible to use two different sizes if you're wanting to run say 3 bikes, and keep the center bike on center. If you have an unusual size or other, you're also able to order custom widths.
Now let's talk distance between Cross Bars:
If your Cross Bars are adjustable, great, pick the size closest to your desired width, and then adjust Cross Bars to suit.
If your Cross Bars are not adjustable, but very close to a standard size, you can re-drill the 8mm mounting holes ~20mm offset to the existing holes.
If unsure, or you want an exact fit, you're able to order custom lengths.
While the 2UP Rack can tolerate the Cross Bars being out of horizontal alignment a little, it is important. If the Cross Bars are too out of plane with respect to each other, it will affect the latching and slide mechanisms. If required, tapered spacers can be purchased in our store.
